These intercessions are profoundly scriptural, drawn from the readings of each Sunday or feast day, and the prayers link the readings to the needs and aspirations of the worshipping community in any parish.

The sureness of touch, the freshness of language and the natural rhythm of Fr Gerald O'Mahony's writing will ensure that they are used for many years to come. In addition to a set of intercessions for every Sunday of the Lectionary, Fr Gerald offers sets for the major feasts which can replace the Sunday readings, and suggestions for the other sacraments as well as for funerals.

The Prayer of the Faithful is unique in that it comes in two versions with a slip case for easy storage. One version is the full lectern book, the other is for the priest containing the opening and closing prayers and response. 

Fr Gerald O'Mahony is a retreat director and writer based in the Loyola Hall Spirituality Centre near Liverpool. He brings a lifetime of prayer and study to his task of writing these outstanding intercessions.
